On the other hand, because more and more VC funds are also using data-based approaches to search for and identify potential startups. The presentation will show what investors look for in AI startups, how they use data themselves, and highlight and Big Data and AI startup trends from the current High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) portfolio.

Biography
Dominik Lohle is Investment Manager at High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), a public-private investment fund and one of Europe’s largest and most active seed funds. As a certified Data Scientist, Dominik focuses mainly on data-driven business models. He currently manages a portfolio of 7 software startups in the fields of AI-enabled computer vision, synthetic data generation, data management and data monetization. Besides, he launched the approach of data-based active sourcing for exciting German tech startups via various data sources, which now plays a key role in HTGF’s investment process and has already generated several investments. Before joining HTGF in 2018, Dominik Lohle worked in two other German venture capital funds during and after his business administration and economics studies.
